I made my first films at 14, a short spoof documentary that won a prize at the Exposures Film Festival in Nottingham, UK. I started shooting real, social justice-oriented documentaries at 18, while working on a theatre / AIDS education project in Nairobi, Kenya. While the bulk of my work is in documentary, I’m increasingly working on experimental, installation and participatory or collaborative projects.
